Dream Bike

The Colnago C60. My hair dresser, Mario (the Colnago superfan) over many a hair cut has convinced me of the true beauty of the Colnago. In his words "From a product perspective it is simply first-rate and a dream to ride or use. The single-minded focus of creating what I like to call ‘art in motion’ saw me fall in love with Colnago very quickly. - classic Italian style."

What is your favourite local ride

Wed - 555 Bentleigh Group Ride - Fast roll. The 555 are a great bunch of guys, pushing each other to reach their limit, whilst all about looking out for one another! Plus the coffee at District Brewer is great!

What is your current cycling goal

I am currently training for Tour de Cure.

I'm using my love of cycling to help raise funds for cancer research projects. I've been lucky enough to be selected to represent CBA as part of the Cancancer team for Tour de Cure.

We will be riding 300km (with over 3,600 vertical meters), from Orange NSW to Parramatta, from the 16th-18th October. Most importantly the ride gives us a chance to give back to the communities we visit and raise $$$ for various cancer projects.

I'd appreciate all the help I can get to raise funds for this cause, which has touched the lives of many! I have an ambitious goal of raising $3k. If anyone is keen to get on some weekend training rides let me know.

When I am on the bike I....

Feel relaxed and just enjoy the ride.

How did your love of bikes come about?

A mate convinced me to buy a mountain bike in 2009. We took our bikes out to Beach Rd and loved the atmosphere. Our first ride we made it down to Frankston (with multiple stops at the petrol stations to refuel). As we kept getting over taken by everybody, we decided from that moment we need road bikes and were hooked from there!

Share a cycling memory

Mount Buffalo May 2016, was a boys weekend away to Bright (the last chance before my wife was due with our baby). The weather was amazing, the views were incredible and the camaraderie of riding that climb were truly memorable. I remember thinking at the time, it doesn't get much better than this!

I love to ride because....

Simply it is a great way to get fit, socialise and consume your disposable income!
