La Velocita followed this year’s Core Therapy Northern Suburbs Three Day Tour. A weekend of great racing in and around Kyneton, taking in some spectacular scenery and great roads left the field feeling exhilarated.

Heading north from Melbourne each day we experienced a series of awesome sunrises. Being up to experience such natural beauty is part of cycling that is often not talked about. It’s just amazing being on the road heading to a ride, or on the bike in the quiet of the morning watching the sun bring the world to life.

Unfortunately, each day we soon left clear mornings to cold temperatures, fog and and rain. This did not stop the Three Day Tour riders, who were all up for the challenge and the grades were soon off and racing.

As usual the organisers did a fantastic job of getting fields moving and setting challenging courses with KOM points (thanks to Essendon Cyclery), undulating and interesing roads and of course cracking sprint finishes.

All up a big weekend with some great winners. Well done to all the grade winners, especially A Grade men’s winner James Pane (Pat’s Veg) and the unstoppable Kate Perry who comfortably took out women’s A Grade.
