The Rapha Festive 500 - At La Velocita we love to ride and we love Christmas. It’s a time for new kits and accessories, riding with friends and family, ham, turkey, beer and wine… what better way to put them all together than getting involved in the Rahpa Festive 500!

Report - Aaron Mulkearns

We are welcoming Aaron Mulkearns as a contributor to La Velocita, he's starting off by getting us all on our bikes for Rapha's annual Festive 500 challenge on Strava.

At La Velocita we are all getting involved in the Rapha Festive 500... and you should to!

Smashing a challenge that Strava puts forward every year during the festive season is a great way to end the year on a high note and get ready for next year's riding. From the 24th of December (Christmas Eve) to the 31st of December (New Years Eve) our challenge is to ride 500km’s….

We'll be attempting this mean feat mainly on the Great Ocean Road an hour and a half out of Melbourne, with a few trips back to Melbourne. Down there we will have the pleasure of riding with the Great Ocean Road Cycling crew, these guys meet most mornings over the Christmas period in Anglesea collecting cyclists in Aireys Inlet, Fairhaven and Lorne.

We'll be riding out to Cape Patton, a beautiful 90km return trip to Aireys Inlet along the twisty, undulating Great Ocean Road, Cadel’s training ground!!

Make sure you share your stories, snap some pictures and hashtag #La_Velocita and #festive500
