Dirty Deeds CX - Victorian State CX Round Four

It’s hard to discuss the explosion in popularity of the sport of cyclocross in Melbourne (and even in Australia) without talking about the role of the Dirty Deeds series organised by the Brunswick Cycling Club.

DDCX has been running since 2010, and every year since its events have been going from strength to strength.

On June 19th 2016 Dirty Deeds returned to Darebin Parklands in Alphington for the fourth round of the Victorian State CX series. A wet week in the lead up to the race promised slippery conditions for all, and a predominantly grassy course promptly delivered - though thankfully it wasn’t as muddy as the previous week’s racing action in Bright and Mt Beauty.
The race attracted a record 280 starters across 8 different grades, with a course difficult enough to challenge the very best while still allowing a fair go for newcomers.
