4 Shaw - Hellbent Leather Gloves

We've been testing some of 4Shaw's "Hellbent" short finger leather cycling gloves for the past few weeks. Touring, racing, club rides, these gloves can do it all and keep your hands well protected and looking great at the same time.
About
Following on from our previous test of the Rennen lightweight gloves, this week we are testing 4Shaw's "Hellbent" short finger leather gloves.
The Hellbent short finger gloves are made using Scandinavian Elk leather. They have a nice perforated leather backing, 3mm gel inserts in all the right places and a towel thumb wipe.
Quality
We've been wearing these gloves on our longer rides and have clocked up about six hundred k's with them. The leather feels really nice, it's pretty soft, but firm when new and after a few rides it will start to soften even more and shape to your hands. We'd expect that you'll get some serious wear our of these glove.
Being leather they are strictly non-machine washable. We were a little concerned that the white leather would look grubby pretty quickly, however the Hellbents are still looking good. A quick wipe with some warm water and a very mild detergent (we used a marino wash) had the gloves looking good in no time.
The Hellbent leather gloves feel like the real deal and are nicely finished. We especially like the stitched 'four' and 'shaw' on the fingers and the small 4Shaw coloured tag.
Ride
These are best suited for touring or long days in the saddle where comfort it all important. Ample padding and good breathability keep your hands protected.
We liked the airflow the Hellbents gave us, and while the are bulkier than the Rennan's we looked at a couple of weeks they serve a different purpose.
Grip levels are excellent, we also found the gloves were well proportioned in width and length for our tester and true to the size guide.
One thing we have to mention is that the look of these gloves is awesome. We got loads of comments from other riders on how good they looked.
Size
Five sizes XS, S, M, L, XL
Price
$80.00 - We think this is pretty reasonable for a pair of quality leather gloves
Overall
These Hellbent short finger leather gloves will last you for years if you care for them correctly. They are not a one season throw away purchase, you'll be riding big rides, racing, getting down to club rides for years to come! A very nice leather glove that stands out just a enough.
