The Pedla - Long Haul G2 - Knicks
About - The Pedla Long Haul G2 Knicks feel like the real deal. They are constructed using M.I.T.I fabric, and designed to offer support and compression, making you feel fresher for longer. Pedla has not held back with the chamois, sourcing an awesome floating Cytech 3D Endurance chamois.
The Long Hauls come in black (there is a green option available that is a little different in design). We like the minimal decals, just the Pedla logo sits on the shorts.
Quality - Like the other Pedla kit we've tested, the material feels high quality and the stitching is very high quality. We hardly need to talk about the chamois but we will. Cytech have to be one of the top suppliers of chamois world wide and at La Velocita we rate their performance as second to none.
The wide Pedla silicon band has a firm feel and the mesh shoulder sections have jut the right width and support to keep them firmly in place but still be comfortable.
Ride - Like the Pedla Full Gas Aero Jersey we looked at last week, the Long Haul G2's are designed for performance. They are designed to feel great on the bike, but are not restrictive, so don't make you feel like you need to hunch when standing. Once on the bike we quickly felt very comfortable.
As expected the Cytech chamois does an amazing job of protecting the places it's meant to. It's a little thicker than some race pads we've seen, but we don't think people ever complain about increased comfort when it comes to knicks. After a 5+ hour ride things were still super comfortable, the chamois does a great job at moving with you and we experienced no bunching.
The Long Haul G2 Knicks firm fit supports your muscles without feeling restrictive. The mesh straps (with single rear strap) don't interfere with the breathability of your base layer or jersey. The knicks also breathe well and the wide Pedla leg gripper did a great job of keeping them in place with little to no movement and zero skin irritation.
Size - Four sizes, S, M, L, XL. We found Pedla's size guide spot on. The guide is in cm. Our 188cm/81kg rider wore size M.
