Lee Hollywood Turner is the La Velocita Weekly Rider! Hollywood is a clear stand out in Melbourne Cycling, for more than one reason... Awesome kits, bright bikes, a cracking personality and as President of St Kilda Cycling Club, where he's taking the club places.

We caught up with Lee 'Hollywood' Turner to find out why he loves to ride.

Dream bike - A Bright Yellow & Red Giant 2016 TCR with Shimano Di2

Favorite local ride - Hell Ride, North Road Long, LPL or Sorrento Via Arthurs Seat.

My current cycling goal is - To have 365 different cycling kits so I have something different to wear everyday. I'm currently at 214.

When I am on the bike I... like to sit in and look at my reflection in shop windows. I also like to chat or talk politics. When riding with Ali (my partner) it’s just a matter of trying to keep up with her or if I’m caught alone I’ll put the headphones in and bump some 2Pac or Tha Dogg Pound.

How did your love for bikes come about - You get to play dress up everyday who wouldn’t like to do that? I also wanted to keep fit once footy finished as the other option was being a fat beer drinking, TAB bound, Pie eating bogan and that’s not a great alternative.

Share a cycling memory - Riding my first 3 Peaks with Ali was a really special day, I loved it and her. Also riding 4 laps at the Nationals one year was a great buzz. The SKCC Shimano SuperCrit is also an amazing day with an electrifying atmosphere.

I love to ride because... it's social, fun and there's a great community out there. I'm a member of the St Kilda Cycling Club and it's such a diverse, warm and friendly club with great people. It's a good feeling being fit and lean who wouldn't want to be that.

The Weekly Rider - Sam Jeffries

Sam Jeffries is  the Weekly Rider! He's ridden from the MCG to Adelaide Oval via the Great Ocean Road in under 60 hours and finished the Peaks Challenge, Falls Creek in 24th, in time of 8:22 in the last couple of months. 

Sam describes himself as 'another middle-aged, lycra-clad cycling tragic' but we think that he's a Hells 500 powerhouse that squeezes cycling around his beloved Radelaide Hills, being GM of a digital marketing agency and family. Awesome.

The Weekly Rider - Aaron DeBono

Aaron DeBono is the Weekly Rider! When on the bike, Aaron enjoys heading into unfamiliar terrain whether its on a the track, mtb, cross or road bike. The thing he enjoys most about cycling is the camaraderie riders have towards helping each other reach their goals and seeing friends advance in their ability and agility. 

Aaron has traveled extensively with his bike and has some great stories to tell, he's also just been signed up to the Rapha Cycle Club... so surely more adventures are ahead!
